Peter Willcox

Peter Willcox by Giovanna Rudis Born March 6th, 1953 in Woodstock, Vermont, Willcox    had a relatively normal childhood, and his education ends at the high school level with the Putney School in Vermont. Notably enough, Willcox’s childhood was marked by early exposure to activism, as both of his parents were politically active. Attending various civil rights demonstrations as a child, he developed experience and interest in activism. After spending time doing research on humpback whales, Willcox would devote his career to marine and environmental activism.     Peter Willcox joined Greenpeace’s ranks after taking a position to be a deckhand on the Rainbow Warrior. This pioneering piece of Nigerian television was created by someone called Ken Saro-Wiwa. If you were alive in the distant 90s, you might have heard of him, but almost certainly for a very different reason. Ken Saro-Wiwa was born in 1941 to an Ogoni chieftain family.
